She is dancing away from you now
I have a bad habit. Too often, I pretend my life is a movie. Everyday, I scour Spotify trying to build the best soundtrack.
That is why I make the little videos you can find on my instagram.
It's wonderful fun to pretend you are the star of your own coming of age film. But as whimsical as they often look - do not be deceived! I am painfully forgetful, second guess myself way too often and I need to keep trying to become a better listener.
Glad we got that out of the way! I hope this dose of honesty lays it all out there for you.
"The Rundown" was born out of a need to place all these quirky thoughts and exciting explorations of mine somewhere. I hope as you explore it can provide a little travel inspiration, make you suffer food envy (sorry not sorry, I LOVE to eat) or give you a song to add to your own soundtrack.
The title of this post belongs to my favorite song of all time, Gypsy by Fleetwood Mac. Fun fact: I "skipped" out on a finals week of college to hear it live with my mom. Not ashamed and I think it's okay to say now that I have my diploma in hand. I think why identify with these lyrics is because it embodies freedom and exploration. You don't have to give up who you have been in the past to be who you long to become.
Right now, I don't feel like I really belong anywhere. Home has become a mindset. A mindset I am working on while living here in Iowa none the less. So maybe, I am a gypsy for the time being. I think I am okay with that.
